Advanced technology and innovation in development especially performed to the maximum performance in circuits.

Fascinating technical solutions for maximum performance in circuits always distinguished the selected factory competition bikes with special care and made according to criteria of perfection down to the last detail. BMW Motorrad presents the new HP4 a thoroughbred racing in a limited edition of 750 units. High quality is guaranteed by the manufacturer and by a small team of highly skilled technicians.

Considering the motor, the electronics and suspension, the new HP4 RACE has a level equivalent to the official motorcycle World Superbike Championship. Thanks to the new carbon frame even exceed them. Considering the weight with a full tank of 171 Kg, HP4 RACE is even lighter than the bikes used by the brand in the Superbike Champ and just exceeds the weight of the MotoGP motorcycles.

Monocoque main frame manufactured industrially, picture self-supporting carbon wheels and rear.

BMW Motorrad, considering  this new HP4 RACE, is the first manufacturer of motorcycles in the world to mount a completely carbon main frame with just 7.8 kg and produced in a limited series, putting this futuristic technology available to any buyer (...well, almost, because only 750 unit will be produced). Also front and rear wheels are from this same technology, with the same level of rigor and with 30% less than the wheels made of light alloy.

Öhlins dampers, lower alloy tipper and Brembo monoblock brake calipers from the Superbike World Championship. The new HP4 Race also shines by the maximum technology competition in suspensions and brakes. Both suspension inverted telescopic type FGR 300, as the kind of support the Öhlins TTX36 GP Swedish manufacturer. Both are identical to those used in the World Superbike Championship and MotoGP Championship. The lower light alloy swingarm consists of milled parts and metal parts, is also a copy of the used in the Superbike World Championship.

The braking system of HP4 RACE also has two Brembo monobloc calipers GP PR, used only in World Championships. In combination with the T-Type steel discs-Racing with 6.75 mm and 320 mm in diameter, the braking is extraordinary.

Performance

The new HP4 RACE mounts a competition engine in all similar specifications 6.2 and 7.2 endurance World Championship and Superbike World Championship. The nominal power is your 158 kW/215 hp at 13,900 rpm, with maximum torque of 120 Nm at 10,000 rpm.

In comparison with the BMW S 1000 RR engine, the maximum revs are 14,500 rpm instead of 14200 rpm. In order to optimize performance, the bike is equipped with a gearbox "close-ratio" of competition with optimized and comes with several secondary relationships (includes the supply of various pinions and racks).

Weight optimized electrical system, 2D instrument panel, DTC dynamic traction control, engine brake control EBR, wheelies and other electronic functions. The new BMW HP4 RACE is equipped with various electronic systems of regulation and support, and has an optimised weight electrical system, designed for use in races. the Council. The dashboard with data memory (2D Logger) allows access to multiple information.

New Jaguar F-Type with 300HP and 4-cylinder engine

The novelty is a Jaguar F-Type affordable but full of spirit

The range now features a 300PS 4-cylinder 2.0 litre Turbocharged Ingenium Petrol engine, the most advanced and efficient engine ever found in an F‑TYPE. While new driver assistance features are available to keep you even safer on every drive. This new model was presented these days in the 2017 New York Autoshow.

Inside, a refreshed interior features new slimline seats offering greater comfort and style. At the heart of the cabin, our next generation Touch Pro infotainment system provides connectivity and entertainment like never before.

The new engine is a turbocharged 2.0-litre Ingenium unit, producing 300bhp and 400Nm of torque generated from 1,500rpm. It’s paired exclusively to an 8-speed Quickshift automatic gearbox powering the rear wheels – there is no option for a manual gearbox.

Performance

This beast has its arguments although the more affordable power unit package, can do 0-62mph in 5.7 seconds, before going on to a top speed of 155mph.

The new 2.0-litre engine is only marginally slower than the next step up. The heavier 335bhp unit sends the F-Type to 62mph from standstill in 5.3 seconds and achieves a top speed of 161mph. However, the act of downsizing means the four-cylinder F-Type returns a claimed 39.2mpg with CO2 emissions of 163g/km, improving on the 33.6mpg and 199g/km CO2 figures of the V6 model.

The smaller, 2.0-litre engine means that the entry level F-Type is 52kg lighter than the V6 car sat above it in the range. The coupe weighs in at 1,525kg with the convertible slightly heavier at 1,545kg, and the lighter kerb weight means Jaguar has seen it necessary to alter the spring rates and steering setup to fine tune the four-cylinder car’s handling and road feel. Jaguar says it has also fine-tuned the exhaust, promising that the 2.0-litre engine isn’t going short in the sound department.

The introduction of the four-cylinder model forms part of the revised 2018 model year F-Type range. Additional driver assist features are now available, including autonomous emergency braking, traffic sign assist, lane keep assist and Jaguar’s adaptive speed limiter system.

The F-Type’s looks have also been refreshed with redesigned bumpers and full LED headlights. To single it out against the rest of the range, the new four-cylinder model comes with a distinctive, oblong exhaust tip mounted in the middle of the rear bumper. Unique lightweight 18-inch alloy wheels are part of the package too.

The new engine 2.0-litre supercharged

The new Ingenium engine contributes to a weight reduction of 52kg, most of which is over the front axle, which Jaguar says is key to the four-cylinder F-type’s enhanced agility. It also says that tweaking the chassis settings to suit the lighter weight of the four-cylinder engine has improved steering response, body control and ride comfort.

There are a few ways in which the F-Type i4 could be more rewarding, indeed. For a start, peak power and torque arrive significantly quicker than in the V6, where maximum power doesn’t kick in until 6,500 rpm and maximum torque at 3,500 rpm. The four-cylinder is lighter, too, with a curb weight of 3,360 pounds for the coupe or 3,405 pounds for the convertible, an average of 105 pounds less than the comparable V6.

Interior

Inside, there are lighter seats, a Touch Pro infotainment system and new chrome and aluminium trim finishers.

Mike Cross, Chief Engineer, Vehicle Integrity, at Jaguar Land Rover said: “We wanted the power and efficiency of the new four-cylinder engine to be matched by levels of responsiveness that would make the F-type driving experience even more engaging and rewarding.
“The result of the intensive development process is an even better balance, an even more connected feel and enhanced ride comfort. Enthusiasts will want to drive this car: this is a true F-type, with its own unique character.”

The F-TYPE with Automatic Transmission is shown with Jet Leather and Suedecloth Sports seats, Jet upper fascia and stitch, Jet Morzine headlining and Jet carpets.

Pricing

On sale this spring, the new F-Type four-cylinder will start from £49,900 in the UK. The 2018 F-Type i4 Coupe starts at $59,900 (plus $995 destination) in USA, in fact, while the Convertible is from $63,000. That’s despite having Jaguar’s latest InControl Touch Pro infotainment system, with an 8-inch widescreen touchscreen, as standard – something that will be the case across the F-Type range. In contrast, the cheapest V6 is the 340 HP RWD manual, at $68k for the coupe and $71,100 for the convertible, while the same car with the automatic transmission is $69,300 and $72,400 respectively.

Hennessey upgrades the ZL1 Camaro to THE EXORCIST

THE EXORCIST is based on  the 2017 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 but reaches 1000HP

ZL1 is the most powerful Camaro ever produced, sporting a supercharged 6.2L LT4 V8. The Eaton supercharger features a new intercooler design that provides more efficient heat exchange and prolonged, sustained power – 650 horsepower and 650 lb.-ft. of torque. While the competition fades, ZL1 delivers consistent power. But...350 hp more are possible. How? Just continue reading.

Hennessey Performance (HPE) introduces their newest super muscle car:  THE EXORCIST TM.

Based on the 2017 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1, the Hennessey team radically increased the Chevy’s LT4 V8 engine’s power to 1000 bhp @ 6,400 rpm and 966 lb-ft of torque @ 4,400 rpm.  Power is increased via a series of engine modifications, including a larger, higher flowing supercharger & intercooler system producing 14 psi of boost pressure.  This system is mated with ported factory cylinder heads, camshaft upgrade, long-tube stainless steel headers, high-flow air induction system and custom engine management calibration.  THE EXORCIST TM is available for both 6-speed manual and 10-speed automatic equipped ZL1 Camaro’s.

“Equipped with rear drag radial tires, The Exorcist will deliver 0-60 mph times under 3 seconds while running the ¼ mile in less than 10 seconds,” said company founder and president, John Hennessey.  “However, THE EXORCIST TM is not just a ¼ mile racer.  It’s a well-rounded super muscle car that is just as happy on a road course as it is on the dragstrip and street.  Needless to say, this will leave the competition’s heads spinning.”

THE EXORCIST TM is available as a new turnkey vehicle from Hennessey and can also be ordered directly from Chevrolet dealers.  ZL1 Camaro owners can also send their vehicles to HPE for the conversion.  The base cost for THE EXORCIST upgrade, including the 1000 hp engine upgrade and graphics is $55,000 and includes a limited 2 year / 24,000 mile warranty.  Automatic equipped vehicles will require an upgraded transmission at the cost of $9,950.  The optional drag pack includes a pair of 20 inch wheels with 315/30-20 Nitto drag radial tires, drive shaft upgrade, floor jack and tool kit at the cost of $8,995.  The optional road race pack includes a set of 20 inch light weight Hennessey wheels with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires at the cost of $6,995.

THE EXORCIST TM also includes optional delivery at Hennessey’s own ¼ mile dragstrip – Lonestar Motorsports Park – located next to the company’s workshop which is located an hour west of Houston, Texas.  Just 100 units of the THE EXORCIST will be produced per model year.  THE EXORCIST TM will make its public debut at the Houston Auto Show on Wednesday, April 5.

Alfieri will be the first all-electric Maserati

The design award

According to Maserati, the driving design influence for the Alfieri tribute vehicle was the company’s legendary A6 GCS-53 (shown below). Designed in 1954 by Pininfarina, the A6 GCS-53 was one of those beautiful ground-breaking GT designs that remains an iconic, influential piece of automotive history. The acronym, by the way, stands for Alfieri 6 cylinder / Ghisa/ Corsa/ Sport.

The Alfieri Concept was first unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show 2014; a striking 2+2 concept car celebrating the brand’s centenary, with the name Alfieri commemorating the most prominent of the founding Maserati brothers. The concept car was designed at the Centro Stile in Turin, masterminded by Head of the Centro Stile Lorenzo Ramaciotti and led by Marco Tencone, who proudly accepted the Car Designs of the Year award on Maserati’s behalf.

Due to the overwhelmingly positive reaction when it was first shown, the Maserati Alfieri is now confirmed for production in 2019/2020 followed by a cabriolet version later on.

Maserati Alfieri Concept was then announced as ‘2014 Concept Car of the Year’. The Car Designs of the Year Awards are completely independent in that the judging panel is made up of a truly global cross-section of professional designers from carmakers, educational establishments and suppliers from major players.

Owen Ready, Editor Car Design News said, “The design of sports cars with fine volumes and beautiful proportions is something Italian car design has long excelled at, but the Alfieri’s more contemporary design elements have been executed with impeccable judgement. The result is a classic Italian sports car which is utterly modern.”

Plans for production

Speaking on the sidelines of the UK launch of the Levante SUV, Peter Denton, who is Region Manager for North Europe, said an electric version of the  Alfieri sports car is planned.
When pressed for a release date, Denton said the variants with combustion engines would come first, followed by the BEV. This would be in "2019/2020, with the full electric in 2020" he believes.
Asked why a battery electric vehicle and not a PHEV, Maserati's man maintained that by the early part of the next decade, the taxation advantages for plug-in hybrids will most likely have been removed in many countries.

The same platform would then be used by the next GranTurismo and GranCabrio. Using the same platform as an electric vehicle would make these cars suitable for plug-in hybrid versions, as well as for offering them in all-electric variants. This is not necessarily going to happen, especially for the GranCabrio, but the possibility exists on a theoretical level.

Maserati has now confirmed the pure-electric model as the second powertrain of the new Alfieri, to be launched a year after the twin-turbo petrol V6-engined sportscar makes its debut in 2019.

The petrol engine

This 3.0-liter dual-turbo V-6, previously uncovered in the Ghibli as accurately as Quattroporte, discovers an additional property from the Alfieri. The base track will begin all around 410 horsepower through an alternative to up class to 450, as the top rated performer may need a displacement hit to suit its 520 horsepower. Only the 410-hp engine is expected to drive the rear rims; far more highly efficient models may come familiar with several tire produce. All Alfieris utilizes ZF’s eight-speed electronic.

The first electric Maserati

The first electric vehicle sold under the Maserati brand will be the production version of the Alfieri concept. The Italians want to launch it in 2020, shortly after the introduction of conventionally-powered versions. The Alfieri might also get a plug-in hybrid option, as the brand is also considering implementing a few of those in its portfolio by the same date.

We also know that the Alfieri will not get a V8 engine, but a twin-turbo V6 unit. We believe the power plant might be “borrowed” from the Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio, which would make it more beneficial for both brands of the Italian-American corporation.

According to Autocar, the decision to implement a V6 engine came after CO2 emissions figures of the V8 were considered for this model within the fleet average, and the answer was unfavorable for the eight-cylinder mill.

The price will be around 150.000 USD.
