New BMW HP4 RACE - 215HP to fly 171 Kg

Advanced technology and innovation in development especially performed to the maximum performance in circuits.

Fascinating technical solutions for maximum performance in circuits always distinguished the selected factory competition bikes with special care and made according to criteria of perfection down to the last detail. BMW Motorrad presents the new HP4 a thoroughbred racing in a limited edition of 750 units. High quality is guaranteed by the manufacturer and by a small team of highly skilled technicians.

Considering the motor, the electronics and suspension, the new HP4 RACE has a level equivalent to the official motorcycle World Superbike Championship. Thanks to the new carbon frame even exceed them. Considering the weight with a full tank of 171 Kg, HP4 RACE is even lighter than the bikes used by the brand in the Superbike Champ and just exceeds the weight of the MotoGP motorcycles.

Monocoque main frame manufactured industrially, picture self-supporting carbon wheels and rear.

BMW Motorrad, considering  this new HP4 RACE, is the first manufacturer of motorcycles in the world to mount a completely carbon main frame with just 7.8 kg and produced in a limited series, putting this futuristic technology available to any buyer (...well, almost, because only 750 unit will be produced). Also front and rear wheels are from this same technology, with the same level of rigor and with 30% less than the wheels made of light alloy.

Öhlins dampers, lower alloy tipper and Brembo monoblock brake calipers from the Superbike World Championship. The new HP4 Race also shines by the maximum technology competition in suspensions and brakes. Both suspension inverted telescopic type FGR 300, as the kind of support the Öhlins TTX36 GP Swedish manufacturer. Both are identical to those used in the World Superbike Championship and MotoGP Championship. The lower light alloy swingarm consists of milled parts and metal parts, is also a copy of the used in the Superbike World Championship.

The braking system of HP4 RACE also has two Brembo monobloc calipers GP PR, used only in World Championships. In combination with the T-Type steel discs-Racing with 6.75 mm and 320 mm in diameter, the braking is extraordinary.

Performance

The new HP4 RACE mounts a competition engine in all similar specifications 6.2 and 7.2 endurance World Championship and Superbike World Championship. The nominal power is your 158 kW/215 hp at 13,900 rpm, with maximum torque of 120 Nm at 10,000 rpm.

In comparison with the BMW S 1000 RR engine, the maximum revs are 14,500 rpm instead of 14200 rpm. In order to optimize performance, the bike is equipped with a gearbox "close-ratio" of competition with optimized and comes with several secondary relationships (includes the supply of various pinions and racks).

Weight optimized electrical system, 2D instrument panel, DTC dynamic traction control, engine brake control EBR, wheelies and other electronic functions. The new BMW HP4 RACE is equipped with various electronic systems of regulation and support, and has an optimised weight electrical system, designed for use in races. the Council. The dashboard with data memory (2D Logger) allows access to multiple information.

The dynamic traction control system, works by cutting off the ignition, the engine braking system, Engine Brake EBR and power control offer numerous possibilities for adjustment, depending on the road conditions on the circuits.

Ortolani Customs reinvented the Ducati Panigale 1199 S

The Ducati Panigale 1199 S on another level

It’s quite literally a killer racing custom, and it comes to us from the brilliant minds at France’s Ortolani Customs. They completely redesigned the Ducati Panigale 1199 S to a level that is absolutely amazing and different from its initial purpose.

Since 2009, Olivier, Gilles and Maxime have honed their skills at their base just north of Nice, creating an array of custom cars and bikes under the Ortolani banner. And if one thing has built their reputation, it’s the beautiful paint jobs they lay down. They’re equally capable of old school pin striping and gold flake right through to modern carbon fibre-infused race bike replicas.

The concept

The bike's owner brought with him a concept illustration by automotive designer Holographic Hammer. Named the 'Panigale CR' the illustration depicted a naked, stripped back version of the 1199S with cafe racer styling and an exposed engine. Not wanting to simply recreate the Holographic design the Ortolani team devised a plan to transform the fully faired motorcycle into an alloy covered racer. "My first reaction when the bike arrived was excitement," says workshop owner Olivier Ortolani. "Then we disassembled the Ducati and our enthusiasm completely disappeared." Beneath the Panigales bodywork was a mass of unsightly wiring and electronic gadgetry that would all need to be rerouted for their concept to work. This wasn't a show stopper though, merely the first of many hurdles they'd need to clear to complete their vision.

In its stock configuration, the Panigale S tips the scales at 188kg and produces an impressive 195bhp. The Ducati was celebrated for its rideability thanks to a plethora electronic gadgetry that allowed riders to modify different aspects of the bike's performance on the fly (throttle response, engine braking, traction control, power and suspension).
As you can well imagine modifying a motorcycle of this calibre requires careful consideration, so, with the bike torn down, a list of performance tweaks were planned in order to extract some aditional power from the Superquadro L-Twin.
To tie the tank in with the rest of the build, the bulk of the bodywork was then separated into two highly complex pieces. That they’re shaped from single sheets of alloy defy what most people believe is possible.

The first wraps around the steering stem and neatly covers where the front section of the bike is bolted to the engine. The second forms the tail; extending reward, the exquisite lines have a smoothness as if they were clay turned on a wheel. The dramatic rear section provides the perfect recess for a tail light without a single gap in the metal.

Tunning the beast

A combination of larger pistons that increased capacity to 1200cc, a race tuned exhaust system from Akrapovic and a remap resulted in a 210 bhp figure. Improving on the Panigale's high-tech stock suspension was deemed unnecessary aside from swapping the rear shock spring for a titanium item. To tweak the Brembo brake set up they fit 330mm race spec carbon ceramic discs and also shed some additional weight by replacing the factory wheels with OZ Racing forged rims wrapped in Michelin slicks in preparation for the bikes racetrack debut.

The cafe styled fuel tank with its knee dents and Monza filler cap houses the fuel pump, airbox and relocated electronics beneath its shiny veneer. Side panels with integrated air scoops cover the monocoque frame and channel cool air into the engine. To keep the cast frame completely hidden from sight they also constructed a shroud to cover the neck of the frame. At the very rear of the bike sits a wasp-like tail with an integrated brake light and tastefully upholstered saddle by NMB Designs.

The brilliant factory dash remains, but is given a new alloy mount so it lies down, keeping a low profile. And you can’t have a set of keys jangling around on a bike this neat, so they wired in a Motogadget m-Lock. With the front end now a far cry from the way it left the factory, the lads could have simply grabbed a 7″ headlight, had a beer and called it a day. But it’s just not their style. So the finishing touch is a yellow-lensed unit housed in a custom crafted alloy surround that exquisitely includes a meshed air intake. Ever seen that before? Neither have we.

9 months to build, like a baby

Olivier told us that "like a baby" the bike took 9 months to build with countless hours assigned to polishing.

The gold theme has been carried across to the engine using a matte metallic coating on the cases. Custom grips made using the same leather as the saddle have been sewn to the clip on handlebars and the rear set footpegs have been chrome plated. While gold is hard to miss on an build it's the polished alloy that really makes this Panigale pop.

Designed in Italy then reborn in France the Ortonali Panigale 1199 S is a reincarnation we'd definitely like to ride.

The MV AGUSTA F4 RR

 A masterpiece

Breaking down the barriers of imagination. Encompassing cutting-edge technology and the latest engine design, the F4 is the best yet. A masterpiece. The top-of-the-range F4 RR contains unparalleled engineering solutions and thoroughbred excellence, ensuring total bike control and heart-stopping performance: an inertial control platform with lean angle sensor, a redefined riding position, full Ride-By-Wire, Öhlins electronic suspension and steering damper as well as GP-spec titanium con rods. All with completely new graphics and colors.

Engine

An advanced four-cylinder ‘short-stroke’ engine powers the entire F4 range. Piston diameters of 79 mm are combined with a stroke of 50.9 mm. On the F4 RR the peak rev limit has been raised to 14,000 rpm. Assembly is now marked by an even greater degree of expert craftsmanship to give absolute precision, with all components being selected and measured to ensure perfect uniformity and maximum performance: a procedure unique to MV Agusta. The engine timing system has been given an extensive upgrade: the intake and exhaust valves now use a single spring instead of the two seen on the previous model, thus reducing moving mass and boosting both maximum engine revs and the rev variation rate.

The piston blanks are hard-anodized, making them even more durable and reliable. The con rods on the F4 RR are made of titanium, a solution more akin to a GP racer than a production machine, giving improved strength and lightness; the engine also features a rebalanced crankshaft. The oil circuit has been redesigned, both inside and outside the crankcase, ensuring perfect main bearing and con rod lubrication and thus boosting reliability, even under extreme conditions. Moreover, the engine now runs at lower temperatures thanks to enhanced radiator efficiency and redesigned oil routing. The short-stroke inline four-cylinder engine is available in two power configurations: on the F4 it reaches 195 hp, while the F4 RR puts out a jaw-dropping 200.8 hp. The fuel delivery system features 50 mm diameter throttle bodies with a fully revised variable length intake tract (TSS). The gearbox is - as on all MV Agusta four-cylinder engines - a six-speed unit, with the clutch featuring a mechanical slipper device. Four engine maps are available: three default one plus a fourth that can be customized by the rider.

Frame and Suspension

The hallmark structure and geometry of the F4 remain unchanged. The frame consists of two distinctive elements, developed by MV Agusta to offer the advantages of two solutions that are usually proposed separately. The main section of the frame, in fact, is made of CrMo steel tubing: this joins to a pair of cast aluminium alloy plates to form a complete structure and provide a pivot point for the sculpted single-sided swingarm.

Further frame optimization has reduced weight without sacrificing rigidity. The F4 RR is also hand-welded using TIG technology and uses a dedicated steel with exceptional mechanical properties. The three versions offer three distinct combinations of fork and shock, while all provide the traditional F4 handling strengths. The F4 features a 50 mm Marzocchi fork and Sachs monoshock, both fully adjustable. As you’d expect, the F4 RR offers up a concentrate of technological excellence and complete personalization: Öhlins suspension with electronic control lets the rider choose between different setups directly from the dashboard. A different suspension set-up is available for each of the four-cylinder engine maps; however, the rider can also adjust suspension independently of the maps. The system provides separate control for compression and rebound damping, while spring preload personalisation is manual. The electronic steering damper has both a manual and automatic setting, the latter varying its response according to vehicle speed.

Brakes

Offering state-of-the-art stopping power for the hypersports category, the F4 RR braking system features two 320 mm front discs with steel braking rotors, paired with the Brembo Monobloc M50 – (M4 for F4) the very best in terms of performance, weight and stiffness - and a dedicated radial pump. The system is completed by a four-piston rear caliper operating on a 210 mm disc.

2017 Kawasaki Ninja H2 R

First, this is a 55K dollars race bike. Why?

Surrounding the Ninja H2R motorcycle’s high-output engine are a multitude of premium, high-performance components, selected specifically for unmatchable performance at track speeds.

The Kawasaki Ninja H2R hypersport motorcycle is an engineering marvel, made possible only through the sourcing of technological expertise from multiple divisions of Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Ltd. (KHI).

The result of this unprecedented collaboration is a system of carefully crafted premium components and World Superbike racing inspired next-level electronics that work in concert to create an unbelievably powerful machine—one that’s more than worthy of the legendary H2 name.

The power: 998 cc and 4 inline cylinder

The engine was painstakingly crafted to endure the extreme stress from the power created by a supercharger. The precision-honed combustion chamber is complemented by a flat piston crown inspired by technology from KHI's Gas Turbine & Machinery Company that helps prevent detonation. Assist and slipper clutch offers light clutch pull and minimizes rear wheel chatter caused by aggressive downshifting.

The power is obscene, the liquid cooled 998 cc 16-valve engine delivers 326 bhp at 14.000 rpm, that requires a hell of a good race pilot and a lot of electronic helps to explore properly this MotoGP level bike. The top speed is limited to 315 km/h, but it can reach much more than that mark! Imagine the acceleration, it's insane, better than a MotoGP bike, 0-100 km/h in an blink of an eye and 0-400 km/h in only 26 secs, a new world record (See the video at the bottom of this article). Just Amazing!

The planetary gear

Designed using technology from KHI’s Aerospace Company, the planetary gear is incredibly compact and efficient at transferring power. The planetary gear runs off power from the crankshaft, driving the impeller (via a “step-up” gear) to incredibly high rpm.
The bike is fully equipped with the latest gizmos; from the Kawasaki Traction Control (KTRC) to the Kawasaki Intelligent Anti-lock Braking System (KIBS) and Kawasaki Launch Control Mode (KLCM).

For the circuits only!

The bike is built for the tracks and is currently not allowed to be used on the roads.

Beyond belief acceleration

Se it in action and be amazed with its acceleration. 0-400 km/h in 26 secs!

BMW S1000 RR

An icon among superbikes.

The BMW S 1000 RR led to a revolution in the sport superbikes category right from the outset. Thereafter, the bike continued to be developed, its tried and tested concept being honed even further and the latest technology added. One constant factor remained throughout, however, - the RR's impressive power curve and, in terms of performance, it is still a trailblazer today.
Now the S 1000 RR comes with DTC Dynamic Traction Control as standard for even greater riding dynamics and road safety. As a result, the S 1000 RR remains a thoroughbred among sport bikes – whether on the road or on the racing circuit. And its innovative technology allows you to experience its performance with greater intensity and immediacy than ever.

The look of a winner. Or a high-performer. Or a fighter.

The RR is the epitome of a superbike - and that applies to its design, too. With its distinctive split face and asymmetrical front headlamps, it is instantly recognisable. The razor-sharp flyline gives it a look of extreme clarity, its contours and shapes complementing each other superbly. It radiates a love of straights and bends from the front to the rear and its hunger for high-level performance is plain to see. The RR shares a desire for pure acceleration and speed with you.
The S 1000 RR comes in three colour versions: Granite grey metallic with Black storm metallic, capturing the dark chasms of the big city to create a breathtaking appearance. Racing red with Light white, with its red wheel lining, emphasises the bike's dynamic performance. The colour variants Light white with Lupin blue metallic and Racing red, also with red trim lines, are a visual indicator of its belonging to the racing sport genre and its place in the BMW motor sport family.

Winning statistics. Powerful performance.

The S 1000 RR’s liquid-cooled four-cylinder in-line engine is capable of 146 kW (199 hp) at 13,5000 r.p.m. and a maximum torque of 113 Nm at 10,500 r.p.m. Impressive statistics that are palpable to its riders. Yet even with this level of performance, the standard DTC Dynamic Traction Control ensures significantly greater safety.
Equally impressive, despite effortlessly attaining this level of performance, the S 1000 RR still complies with the EU-4 standard.
Numerous details enable you to experience the performance of the S 1000 RR even more intensively and maintain an even better overview in all traffic situations. The three riding modes "Rain", "Sport" and "Race" ensure optimal coordination of electric throttle, ABS and ASC, even in changing conditions. DTC Dynamic Traction Control and ABS, both of which now come as standard, ensure even greater safety too. Electric throttle enables the bike's immense power to be dispensed even more finely and directly. With its exceptionally high resolution, the instrument panel provides a clear display of the selected settings along with road speed and engine speed. As a result you have an optimal overview of the RR's performance and of your settings at all times.

Performance and perfection right down to the finest detail.

Yet even here further refinement is possible, for instance with the optional accessory Pro Riding Modes, with its two individual modes – "Slick" and "User Mode" as well as ABS Pro with an inclined position sensor. And even in the highest performance range, the RR comes with a range of convenience systems: the optional Pro Shift Assistant enables you to shift gears up or down without having to actuate the clutch or throttle grip – for even better forward propulsion. Launch Control and Pit Lane Limiter are also taken straight from the pit lane.
The S 1000 RR remains a top class sport superbike. On the road and on the track alike.
